Honey.

My roommate is a cat lover. She has one cat named Angel, age 9, who can be not so angelic at times. Angel is also a bit plump, but quite content with his lazy lifestyle. Then one day out of the blue, my roommate says, "I think Angel needs a playmate. Maybe it'll help him lose weight." "Humm...." I said, "As long as you know I want no responsibility of either of them." "He he he he!" said the roommate. (Like she thought I was kidding or something).

Enter Honey:

If that face doesn't warm your heart, I don't know what will.

Not for the weak at Heart

Just another "Sunday Fun Day"

45 minutes outside of Los Angeles we found ourselves in a war zone. Most of our "enemies" were in the 7-15 age group. AWESOME!!

The Paintball Crew.

Every man for himself.

The vicious women.

Think again before you mess with me.

Davey's Locker

Have you heard of this? If not, you've got to check it out. It offers local deals at a bargain price and it's an awesome way to check out new restaurants and local activities. Such as deep sea fishing at night, of course!

5:00pm

Rocio and I on the ferry over to Balboa Island, Newport Beach.

Balboa Island Ferry Dock.

Rocio was unclear about the rules of fishing. They clearly had to be explained to her.

My first throw I caught a fish!! The majority of the fish caught that night were California Scorpion fish. A delicious to eat fish, but the most venomous found in California. Needless to say, I let the dock help unhook them for me. The fish had to be 10" or longer in order to keep.

Me and my "little poker."

It always pays to make nice with the workers. Free hot chocolate for Rocio and I. I love this photo. It feels like something you might see in an art exhibit.

Two cute girls looking to have some fun on a boat full of men who were a lot more serious about their fishing then we were.

Bate =Squid.

11:00pm

Just when we had given up hope that Rocio was never going to catch a fish, she got one! This was Rocio's only fish for the night. I caught about 10.

12:30am

Back on shore, the birds were there to clean up after the great slaughter of fish had been cleaned.

Cold and tired, Rocio and I had a great adventure and are looking forward to doing it again.

XOXO

Darlington Avenue

I'm a person who likes traditions. Holiday traditions especially. This story though is not of the holiday type. (I wish it was). I have a tradition of moving. For those of you who know me well, you know I send out "change of address" e-mails every 12 months, without fail. And I've done it again.

Welcome to Jerry Manor on Darlington Avenue.

Jerry Manor, a complex of 11, in Brentwood, California.

The front door and a shot of the living room.

Another shot of the living room and the door to the patio. The couch on the left should be getting sold soon and taken out of here.

A photo from the front door into the "dining" area. Also where my roommate likes to keep her unorganized"home office." Something else I'll be happy to see gone.

Taken from the dining room. Our lovely little kitchen with a gas stove, which I love!

From the dining room. A direct view into my bathroom. To the right is a door leading into my roommate Juli's bedroom. To the left is my bedroom.

Juli's bedroom. She has her own bathroom in her room.

My bathroom.

My bedroom.

My bed with my photograph of the Hollywood sign, which I'm still totally digging.

Angel, the 'not so angelic all the time' cat.

*MY* Patio.

My Plants.

A view down the driveway from the patio.

And that completes your tour of Darlington Avenue. I'm really enjoying my new space and hope you'll visit soon!

Happy November 1st from Sunny California!

Halloween in Boys Town.

Every good Marine needs a flapper girl.

And what's a flapper girl without her Cinderella?

Being two non-natives to California, Rocio and I

Both felt that experiencing Halloween in West

Hollywood was an event not to miss.

And I would have hated to miss this!

Happy Halloween from LA Girl!

After a qucik google search of: "the best place to photograh the Hollywood sign," here is what I got.

Not to shabby, huh.

Re-Vamping my dresser.

I used to be really proud of my fushia and brown dresser.

Now I'm really proud of my steel blue and brown dresser.

(It's still a bit incomplete.

I'm on the hunt for the perfect clear glass pulls.)

A Day at Joshua Tree

Needed to get away from the city for a day.

Drove the short two hours to Joshua Tree National Park and had myself a fabulous day exploring the desert terrain.

Always, always, always must have a photo at the entrance!
This is the 109th National Park I've visited!!

The ocotillo.

The cholla cactus garden. Or what I call them, "scary jumping cactus." They have a tendency to attach itself to the unwary. I barely stood still long enough to take my photo. The last thing I want is one of those stuck in my face.

This old truck belonged to a long time resident of the area. I found several old cars, among other things, along this particular trail.

By the time I reached this old Mill, which operated from 1930-1966 by William F. Keys, the sun was setting. I had to use my flashlight to find my way out, and that proved a challenge!!

Slowly accomplishing my goal to visit every national park in the USA!

Cheers!!
